And here it came, the day I prepared for. Today, I will be observed by my mentor from Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University. I was very nervous at first because Ms. Jack seems to be not online sometimes so she can’t reply but fortunately, she came today. She was earlier than I expected. She will observe me at around 10:30-11:30. My day didn’t start well because I had troubles with the laptop to use, it has been 15 minutes past my time but I haven’t started yet. Then Teacher Da, came to the rescue with the laptop. I was able to start my lesson.
I first gave an activity to the students wherein they have to classify the pictures that I have to its specific state of matter. I called for volunteers and luckily they participated very well. After our activity, I related the recent activity with the lesson which also serves as a recall of our past lesson. As I go by the discussion, I often ask questions to clear if they understand it well. We discussed separation techniques for mixtures. I showed pictures and videos that were related to the demonstration technique being discussed. After we summarized important concepts, we had a game also which was the Quiz Bee Game. The class were divided into 4 through counting. They have to guess what is the appropriate separation technique that must be used in the mixture that I showed. When the game was concluded, they had an individual activity through a worksheet. That ended my successful teaching demonstration.
Lastly, after collecting the papers of students, Ms. Jack called me to tell her comments about my teaching. She suggested methods and pedagogies, but the most favourite line that she said to me was “You can teach very well” – this line really touched my heart and soul. Kopkonka!!!
