Day 24 - August 30, 2017

This was a concluding day for the entire program we had here in Ayutthaya. We have prepared for this day up until tonight. Today, it was the Cultural Exchange Day! All of us from the Batch 4 went to ARU for this event at around 1PM in the afternoon. The program started immediately after we arrived. It started with the message of the Associate Dean of the Institute welcoming us to the University then right after he talked, we introduced ourselves in front. There was also a fine-size audience attending the program. We were the first to show our performance, #TeamPhilippines. We showed the “Sayaw sa Panyo” which was a cultural and traditional dance from our country and right after that, we sang a modern version of a Harana song but before all of this we explained all of this to our audience. Next to showcase their performances were the Thai students who showed us a lot. One performance was about the Do’s and don’ts in Thailand. The other one was a traditional Thai doll dance which was very enjoyable to watch. The last performance from the Thai students was the Traditional Thai song about “Good Luck”. In between, the Host University gave us tokens of appreciation by giving us shirts from the university. Right after that, the Indonesians were the last perform, unfortunately they’ve encountered technical problems and while they were fixing it, we went at the back to experience more of the Thai culture. There, we wore Thai traditional costumes and took snaps wearing it. We also tried doing a fish replica with the use of coconut leaves. We also tried food that I just have stated for the first time since I went here. Moving on with the issue, the Indonesians performed their piece one by one, they sang and danced also. That concluded our program though we took more pictures with the students, with Teacher Sherina, Teacher Nannie, some familiar faces since we arrived here. Before we left the room, I gave my souvenirs from the Philippines to the two Teachers who have helped us while we were here in Ayutthaya. We also answered a self-assessment form about our experience, the university and the whole experience itself. Lastly, Na accompanied us to eat at a restaurant near in ARU then proceeded back to the dormitory.
